IVAN ASEN 22
BULGARIA’S YOUNG DESIGN ELITE
For over 10 years, designer Neli Mitewa has staged the unique creations of independent, young Bulgarian fashion designers twice a year. She is not only the curator of the exclusive exhibition, but also the founder of the only conceptual designer platform in Bulgaria: IVAN ASEN 22.
The focus is on designs by over 25 professional Bulgarian young designers who create models on a specific theme and then present them in the IVAN ASEN 22 showroom in Sofia. It’s not about superficial fashion, but about intellectual design. It’s not about the unsustainable either, on the contrary, it’s about contemporary, high-quality designs that are suitable for everyday use.
The aim is not to shape temporary lifestyles,
but rather to contribute to the creation of one’s own lifestyles.
The initiative’s alternative approach is also characterized by its anti-elitist stance. The declared goal is to create maximum closeness between designer and customer, to offer opportunities for contact, exchange and feedback. To this end, IVAN ASEN 22 works with a permanent team of partners, young designers and artists as well as institutional partners, organizations, private companies, supporters and friends. Style & the gang is happy to be one of these partners too! From now on we will report twice a year on the current project.

The present summer 2020 edition has the motto ‚Sense of a Rainbow‘.
A total of 30 Bulgarian young designers and guest designers from Germany took part in the salon and presented their innovative ideas on site. A digital catalog was created to accompany the exhibition, which, in addition to the work on ‚Sense of a Rainbow‘, also presents creations by the Bulgarian label Off Limits and guest designers Krenare Rugova from Kosovo and Rosica Mrsic from Macedonia.

In addition, fashion drawings by seven illustrators are included, who artistically stage the designer models. As part of the exhibition, these very illustrations were shown in the form of limited prints. The designs shown in the catalog can be purchased and viewed via this LINK.
